1981 Bmw 320i Hi Attempting Figure Out Car Killing Batteries Conducted Ground

hi i am attempting to figure out why my car is killing batteries i conducted a ground test where i disconnect the neg terminal and leave power connected testing for voltage drop and im getting 12.6 at the post and when i touch my ground anywhere else im only getting 7.5v im at a loss please help
