1980 Toyota Celica over heat

I have a 1980 toyota celica just rebuilt the motor its a 20r the car runs like a new car but it is over heating I put all new hoses on and new water pump and thermostat flushed out the radiator.I dont see how a new motor could do that.

Imay if head gasket is leaking or put on wrong. Check radiator for cold spots when hot. I fany cold spots are there replace radiator. Also check radiator cap for correct pressure
