How to install fuel filler neck on 1980 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

Tube slides in seams lose does it need to sealed or welded to keep from leaking

Are you refering to where it plugs into the tank? It should be into a rubber filler hose and clamped.

There is no rubber filler hose and no place to put one. The tank just has a hole and the tube slides into it.
