1980 Jeep CJ7 Ignition

A friend hooked up jumper cables on my jeep wrong it fried the wire to the alternator. I replaced that and I just got a click from the solenoid? Replaced the solenoid and the starter and the battery and I still just get one click sounds what is wrong with the jeep? Please help

BE SURE YOU REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR WIRE THAT COOKED!

I've tried that and still just a click. Tried catching it in gear and it doesn't even try to start idk what it could be

TESTS-USE VOLTMETER-HAVE NUMBERS -NOT "IT'S GOOD"- "SEEMS FINE"

SET THE METER TO "20 VOLTS DC" (OR THE NEXT VOLTAGE ABOVE 12 VOLTS DC)

SORTA PERMANENTLY TOUCH YOUR BLACK LEAD ON THE NEGATIVE BATTERY POST (HAVE BUDDY HOLD IT THERE)

TOUCH POSITIVE (RED) LEAD TO

1) POSITIVE BATTERY POST- WHAT IS THE VOLTAGE?

2) REMOVE WIRE "5" FROM POST "C" ON THE SOLENOID****STICK RED VOLTMETER LEAD INSIDE OF IT (WIRE "5" CONNECTOR), HAVE BUDDY ATTEMPT A "LONG" START WITH THE KEY- WHAT IS THE VOLTAGE ON WIRE "5"? TURN KEY TO OFF. SEE MY 1ST PIC

3) REPLACE "5" ONTO "C" - TOUCH RED LEAD TO "A", ATTEMPT A START-WHAT IS THE VOLTAGE? TURN THE KEY OFF

4) FOR GIGGLES- TOUCH RED LEAD TO "B"- WHAT IS THE VOLTAGE? (NO NEED TO TURN THE KEY, THIS SHOULD BE A DIRECT SHOT TO THE BATTERY)-WHAT IS THE VOLTAGE? LET ME KNOW IF YOUR POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE IS NOT ON "B"

ALL OTHER LITTLE WIRES ARE STACKED AGAINST THE POSITIVE CABLE, THIS FEEDS THE ENTIRE JEEP

THE STARTER SHOULD BE ALL BY ITSELF

IN MY PIC- ALL OF THIS IS REVERSED-FOR MY OWN REASON

I'M TALKING YOU THRU THIS AS IF YOURS ARE STILL LIKE FROM THE FACTORY-DON'T GET CONFUSED BY MY SET UP-JUST GO BY THE NUMBERS AND LETTERS I GAVE YOU FOR THE TESTS!

I HAVE THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE ON "A" (ACCESSORIES STACKED ON IT) AND THE STARTER CABLE ON "B" ALL BY ITSELF (BOTH OF MY JEEPS ARE SWAPPED IN THIS MANNER, LEAVE YOURS AS THEY ARE, I DON'T WANNA CONFUSE YOU RIGHT YET!)

5) TURN THE KEY TO "ON"- RED LEAD TO THE POSITIVE SIDE OF THE COIL-WHAT IS THE VOLTAGE. SEE PIC 2

6) INSURE YOUR SOLENOID HAS A GOOD GROUND, TAKE IT LOOSE, TIGHTEN THE BOLTS

7) ARE YOU SURE YOU CANNOT MAN-HANDLE EITHER BATTERY CLAMP AND MAKE IT MOVE OR COME OFF OF IT'S POST?

MOVING THE BATTERY CABLES (MAN HANDLE) DOES NOT MOVE THE RAW COPPER WIRE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE "SQUEEZER" ON THE BATTERY CLAMP?

JUST MAKING SURE ALL IS WONDERFULLY TIGHT, IF YOU HAVE CRAPPY CLAMPS, LETS REPLACE THEM NOW, BEFORE WE CHASE OUR TAIL LOOKING FOR "GHOST ISSUES"!

ALL RIGHTY THEN, GIVE ME "1-7" ANSWERS, NO CHEATING!

WE'LL GET YOU FIXED UP, NO MORE CRYING! LOL!

Wire 5 with long start reads 11.87
Red to B reads 0.03
Red to A reads 12.02
Red to pos on coil reads 11.83

SO IF

"5" WAS ATTACHED TO "C" (AS NORMAL)

YOU ATTEMPTED A START

AT THE EXACT SAME TIME YOU TESTED "B"

BASICALLY YOU HAD NO VOLTAGE

LETS DO ONE MORE TEST

WITH THE KEY OFF AND IN NEUTRAL, WHEELS CHOCKED

WITH A WIRE, SKINNED BACK ON BOTH ENDS

TOUCH THE POSITIVE SIDE OF THE BATTERY WITH ONE END

THEN TOUCH "C" ON MR. SOLENOID WITH THE OTHER END

IT SHOULD CRANK OVER (WOULD START IF THE KEY WERE ON)

THE SOLENOID SHOULD AT LEAST MAKE A HARD LOUD CLICK AS THE ELECTROMAGNET PULLS THE INTERNAL PLATES TOGETHER

SORRY I TOOK SO LONG

WAS AIDING ANOTHER JEEP COUPLE IN MY DRIVEWAY.

SO HARD TO DO THIS IN TEXT

I WANNA INSURE THAT "5" WIRE HAS VOLTAGE ONLY WHEN THE KEY IS AT "START"

"6" WIRE WILL ALWAYS HAVE VOLTAGE WITH THE KEY "ON" (NOT "START")

******BASICALLY I WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT HAVE THEM CROSSED*******

"5" WIRE GOES ON "C" (VOLTAGE IN "START" POSITION ONLY)

DOES TURNING THE KEY TO "START" MAKE THE SOLENOID CLICK LOUD? RELEASE KEY, DO IT AGAIN/ "CLICK"?

IS THE STARTER CABLE ON "A" (YOU HAVE LOOSENED AND SCOOCHED THE CABLE AROUND AND RE-TIGHTENED IT?

HOW 'BOUT THE STARTER CABLE AT THE STARTER? HANDS ON, ON IT'S CONNECTION TOO?

DOES YOUR BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE ATTACH TO THE ENGINE?
