I have a 1980 c10 Scottsdale. I need to know what engine and transmission to use to get the fastest truck possible. I was thinking about using a 400 small block and a 400 turbo transmission with a 4 barrel edelbrock carburetor and I need to know what rearend I can put on the truck to make it positive traction. If your wondering it has a 305 small block.

you want power go with a big block if you want to stay with a small block go with a 383 a 400 isn't agood choice due to crank being not very good with good support. posi unit if you know what rear end you have you can make that aposi just go to a place where they rebuild them.
