my transmission

i have a 1980 cadillac seville the transmission goes into gear sometimes a little slow going to reverse drives fine but won't come out of first gear what could this be ? a tourque conveter? i checked the fluid and it's good.

most likely bad seals or clutches due to age. it will most likely have to be overhauled.
