after replacing the shift cable on the floor shift in a 1979 pontiac grand prix its hard to put into park. have to hand turn the column then i can put it in park with the floor shift knob. I cannot find anywhere to adjust the new cable. pontiac grand prix sj 301 4.9 litter 4 bb carb

make sure the cable is routed correctly. if it has any kinks in it, it will restrict the operation of the cable.
