My Midget has stalled a couple of times and feels like fuel starvation. Also, it has been running hot. Thought it best to start the diagnosis with the least expensive. Limited funds and true MG mechanics dictate that I try to solve this myself.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

mechanic dictates to you?? time for another tech that will service your needs.

the carbs are common issues with these motors. they need constant service. fuel filter is a good place to start but i do not believe that is your issue.

changing the thermostat is a good start. it may or may not resolve the overheating. check the radiator for flow.
