To the Medic, yes that what some one told me one time that it looks like my transfer case is stuck or something of that nature, I turn on the jeep and try turning the knob in the glove box but since it has open headers I cant really hear anything, a lot of the stuff ive read up on is for manual applications, I have the automatic th400 with either the bog warner or the dana20, will I have to take it to get tranny and transfer case checked out or is there something I can do?

I LOOKED THRU THIS A LITTLE, WIFEY HAD ME DOIN' CHORES

ONE THING "I THINK" I REMEMBER IS WITH THE QUADRATRAC......LOCKING HUBS ARE NOT USED AND CANNOT BE USED WITHOUT SOME SORTA MODIFICATIONS

I HAVE THE 1979 PAPER AMC JEEP SERVICE MANUAL......I SHOULD BE SHOT FOR NOT TAKING CARE OF IT WHEN IT 1ST FELL INTO MY LAP BACK IN 1983

I REALLY HATE IT THAT AS SOON AS I GIVE UP THE "ARK", YOU WILL NOT NEED ME FOR ANY MORE BASIC STUFF

I DO HAVE SOME TRICKS AND REALLY GOOD MODIFICATIONS I CAN SHARE---STUFF YOU MAY BE IGNORANT OF ALSO ABOUT YOUR JEEP!

SO.......THE MANUAL IS WRITTEN VERY WELL......IT DON'T FORGET AND LEAVE OUT STUFF EITHER, LIKE I MIGHT

IF YOU WILL REALLY SLOWLY POUR OVER THE TROUBLESHOOTING STUFF---AND INSURE IT IS THE CORRECT ITEM AND THE CORRECT VEHICLE YOU ARE READING ABOUT........YOU WILL DO WELL!

I WANT YOU TO LOOK UP AND FULLY UNDERSTAND HOW THE CONTROL IN THE GLOVE BOX ACTIVATES THE 4X4

ALSO LOOK TO SEE IF YOU CAN MANUALLY, SOMEHOW MOVE THE LINKAGE WITH A PUNCH AND TAPPING WITH A BALL PEEN HAMMER AT THE TRANSFER CASE

..........................CONSULT WITH ME, WE CAN GET ON THE SAME PAGE (YOU WILL SOON UNDERSTAND)

WE'RE GONNA HAVE TO BE MORE AWARE OF YOUR SYSTEM----I DID A LITTLE SKIMMING OVER SOME OF IT

LOOKS TO ME LIKE IT'S FULL TIME ALL OF THE TIME----THE THING IN THE GLOVE BOX IS "EMERGENCY DRIVE". ONLY USED IN EMERGENCIES (STUCK IN A HOLE). NOT TO BE USED ON THE HARD PAVED ROAD.

RECKON IT'S BEEN IN THAT MODE AND DRIVEN ON THE HIGHWAY FOR A WHILE, AND MAYBE HAS SHELLED SOMETHING OUT?

FILL 'TILL IT RUNS OUT........THEN 2 OR 3 OR 4 FAST PUMPS.......FOR GIGGLES, INSTALL THE PLUG

GET ON LEVEL SURFACE.....ANY TIME YOU CHECK THE DIFFS-- A MANUAL TRANNY (AUTOMATIC TRANNY HAS A DIPSTICK!) --TRANSFER CASE.............UNSCREW THE PLUG, EASE IT BACK A HAIR.......JUICE SHOULD RUN OUT....RE-INSTALL THE PLUG QUICKLY!

"DIGGING" IN THE HOLE WITH YOUR LITTLE FINGER....BARELY COMING BACK WITH A WET FINGER...IS NOT "PROPERLY FILLED" !
