1979 Chevrolet Nova Can't remove cigarette lighter!?!?

I've got the whole flip down ash tray out, wires unplugged! I can't figure out how to remove the cigarette lighter!? Help?

Wow, you're taking me back in time with this one. On the back side of the ashtray, where the cig lighter comes through, can you see a retaining clip (C-clip) that is holding it in place?
