how do I remove U-joint from a 79 deville. They look pressed on and I need to r/r the trans.

Do you mean after the drive shaft has been removed and it's on the work bench? If there's no clips, the cups are held in with a ring of plastic. Heat them up and watch the little worms of molten plastic come oozing out. The new joint will have grooves and clips.
