my 1977 280z starts when cold but after a few min. stars smoking and dies .might start later and run good but idles high.

O.K. could not remember when they went injection guess 76. system is like BOSCH. engine is running rich so start with things that can cause this. do you have a way to check fuel pressure? is there an air bypass on system? does have an air flow meter in air intake? doing this from memory data base does not go back that far. But the nightmares from working on these cars I still have

L-Jetronic system common rich faults leaking injectors mostly cold start injector can remove should spray 1-3 sec no more on cold start if more or sprays while engine hot replace. also air leaks and binding air flow meter flap. let me know
