fuel problem on carb model xj6 series 2/3 coupe

runs on tick over ok, accelerate for 1/2 mile engine dies down, after tick over for a few seconds fuel pressure fills floats and accelerates ok for another half mile. new tanks, new pumps, new filter.help

we dont' have any info for this car due to age. But you might do some carb checkes like float level, and may need an accelator pump or new diaphragm depending on what carb you have. The alcohol in todays fuel has probably worn your accel pump , diaphragm etc out. probably due for a rebuild.
