AM radio is full of static. How can I test the antenna?

i would guess you could test the antennea lead for resistance to the body. on botht eh probe end and grounding side. You would need a radio guy to tell you that. But there used to be a condensor that came off the alternator to sopt alot of that static. Also those radios especially if stereo always lost one side of the stereo system
