Is their a pin or something besides bolt holding the hormonic balancer in place on crank?

Massive amounts of friction. You should need a puller to remove it. Some three-jaw pullers may work but you don't want to grab on the outer ring. That is bonded to the hub and will get torn off if you pull on that. Some vibration dampers have drilled holes for bolts that hook onto the puller.
