I have currently moved in with my uncle and he has a 1976 F100 with a 1972 Motor. its a 302 or otherwise known as a 5.0 with an 8 cylinder carborator. I recently replaced all the spark plugs and changed the fuel filter. but for some reason when I crank it up it either will not stay running or when I can keep it running and go to change to a different gear as in reverse etc.. it automatically cuts off.. im not sure what the problem is or even what to look at..any advice?

Check the rest of the tune, point if it is not electronic distributor, timing, all filters, and carby float height, what brand of carby is fitted and are all the adjustments ok and all vacuum lines ok?
