If it is the small little centre cap it should line up and give it a tap to get it into place. If it is a full hubcap, perhaps the nuts hold it on

On the 76 hubcap, there is a bolt in the center. It requires a special wrench to tighten it into place. Basically it is a key type wrench designed to fit that hubcap. Push it into place then with the tool, screw in the bolt.

Let me know if you have other questions.
