Landcruiser diff

I have replaced the diff head in my 1975 landcruiser and would like to know wether the washers that hold the axles in are supposed to be a tight fit or how they go on as they are quite loose but don't appear to be worn. Cheers.

Its a semi Floating set up not the same as the picture above. It has a groove on the end of the axle that has a half moon shaped washer that according to my haynes manual is the only thing that hold the axels in.

Sorry I could not find any information on the washer.

If there is excessive free side movement of the wheel after assembly, then it would have to be replaced. Otherwise it should be good.
