I replaced the alternator on my 1975 cj5. The replacement was different, it had external diodes with the battery terminal attached to it, so I put the battery wire on that terminal but wouldn't charge. Took diodes off and ran battery wire same as old alt. Charges now but I have a 12volt draw. Any ideas
