1974 Volkswagen Beetle headlights not working

I just purchased a 1974 Volkswagen beetle and the headlights are not working. I have replaced the headlights and still are not coming on. I am not sure where to go next. I'm not mechanically incline but want to do as much as I can myself.

You need to check for power and ground... check the fuses, the headlight switch etc.

Use a test light to verify power to the components or where the power stops.

I have fond with these older bugs that the fuse block and often be the problem, loose connections and poor connections with the ceramic fuses, i would start here.
