1974 Chevrolet Nova Drive Get Start Got Battery Checked Alternator They Both

i drive a 1974 nova and i cant get it to start. i have got the battery checked and the alternator checked and they are both good. but when i try to charge it drains it just as fast as it charges.

Have you tried charging the battery with the. Cables off at least to get the battery charged?
