What max size 5 speed transmision can I fit in my truck for higher speed? And if so do I have to change my 2 barrel carb for a 4 barrel?

Unless you are going to put in a medium duty 5 speed any of them are ok. You don't need to go to a 4 barrel carb if you don't want to. Most are the same as what is used in cars anyhow.
