1973 Benz 450SE small v8 automatic... with a half gallon tank of gas my car backfired then died. i put in a gallon and after a few minutes it started. thinking my fuel filter is plugged. where is the fuel filter located and how can i replace it? thank you for your help

EFI engine? should be under the rear near the tank
