Every now And then, my 1972 superbug puts off a very toxic burning metal sort of smell. The oil is full , I am worried if I keep driving it will stuff up . Please! What should I do/check?

You need to locate the source of the smell before any rectification can be done.

Note when it occurs.
Check exhaust system for external contaminants sticking to it.
Check for oil leakages onto exhaust.
