I have a problem everytime a turn the key to my truck the engine does not crank, but when I put a push button start on the truck it turns over. The truck has a new solonoid, and ignition switch. But I was woundering does this truck have a starter relay because ive gone to napa and they could not find one for it but when I look at repair manual it lists a starter relay

SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE SAYING THE SYSTEM IS NOT ORIGINAL

LOOK AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST AND SEE IF YOUR WIRES TEST CORRECTLY AND ARE ATTACHED TO THE RIGHT POSITIONS

THIS IS MY CJ5 AND WILLYS JEEP SET UP---JEEP USED A FORD SYSTEM

SEE THE REALLY LONG ANSWER I GAVE W/ PICS OF THE SOLENOID AT THE BOTTOM

https://www.2carpros.com/questions/1986-jeep-cj7-help-needed

SET YOURS UP LIKE THIS (INSURE THE WIRE DO WHAT THEY SHOULD [NOT CONNECTED] THEN PUT THEM TO THEIR CORRECT POSITIONS )

KEEP ME POSTED--I WILL TALK YOU THRU ANYTHING THAT WON'T WORK RIGHT

I PLUGGED IN A 302 CU. IN. IN THIS LINK

IF THIS IS AN AUTOMATIC, THIS COULD BE THE PROBLEM IF THE 12 VOLT SIGNAL IS NOT REACHING "S" TERMINAL ON THE SOLENOID

ALL RIGHTY

THIS SOUNDS LIKE IT COULD BE ONE OF FOUR THINGS

1) BATTERY/ CHARGING SYSTEM/ CONNECTIONS....SEE THIS LINK

https://www.2carpros.com/questions/1994-jaguar-xj6-ignition-key-turned-car-doesnt-crank

2) A BAD SOLENOID

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_Starter-Solenoid-BWD_5470277-P_421_R%7CGRPRELAAMS_____

3) A BAD STARTER

(I WOULD HAVE GIVEN YOU A LINK, BUT I DO NOT KNOW YOUR ENGINE SIZE) HAVE YOURS TESTED 1ST, BEFORE YOU RUN OUT AND BUY ONE....MOST POPULAR AUTO STORES USUALLY WILL DO IT FOR FREE!....THEY WILL MOST LIKELY TEST YOUR BATTERY AND CHARGING SYSTEM FOR FREE TOO!

4) AND LAST---THE STARTER TEETH MAY BE HUNG UP IN YOUR FLYWHEEL TEETH----REMOVE STARTER AND CHECK TEETH ON BOTH FOR DAMAGE

KEEP US POSTED
