i have a 72 corvette 350 4spd with backend vibration can't go over 50.

Check the driveshaft U-joints could be loose/defective and loose suspension components/differantial-investigate

rear bearings, wheel bearings, U-joint, flat spots in tires (if its ever sat for a while, a real consideration), bent wheel(s)
