1972 Chevrolet Chevelle 72 Gas Tank Leaked Got New One Along Sending Unit Unit G

I have a 72 Malibu and the gas tank leaked so I got a new one along with a sending unit. The sending unit I can get come with a return line and the old one did not have that can I just plug the return line on the new one.
