WELL, SOME ENGINES DON'T EVEN BLINK IF A WIRE IS REMOVED, I SAW A 460 RUN ON 4, IT LACKED BIG-TIME POWER, BUT IT WAS SO WELL BALANCED AT THE MACHINE SHOP I USED TO WORK AT, IT WAS AMAZING HOW SMOOTH IT WAS RUNNING, AND WAS STILL DRIVING!

IS IT RUNNING POORLY. THAT WHY YOU WERE PULLING WIRES?

OR IS YOU QUESTION RELATED TO. ONE OF MY CYLINDERS IS NOT OPERATING, AND I VERIFIED IT BY PULLING THE WIRE ON THE SUSPICIOUS CYLINDER?

WELL IF IT WERE MINE, AND I WAS BEGINNING THE INVESTIGATION, I WOULD PULL THE PLUG AND GROUND IT, TO THE ENGINE AND VERIFY I HAD WONDERFUL SPARK AT THE PLUG.

THEN I WOULD PERFORM A COMPRESSION TEST ON THAT CYLINDER, AND COMPARE IT TO A FEW OTHERS (UNLESS YOU GET "0", THEN WE MAY HAVE A VALVE OR CAM ISSUE)

THESE ARE RELATIVELY SIMPLE TESTS, I MAY CAN ASSIST YOU IF NEED SOME.

LET ME KNOW WHATS GOING ON, IMMA CJ JEEP GUY, AND I UNDERSTAND VERY WELL, VEHICLES 1982 ON BACK.

YOUR TURN

Nope it runs smooth, and uses 0 fluids. No oil in the antifreeze or vice versa. Cackles when I rev it and let off real fast, dies if the butterfly is all the way open. My spark plugs are shooting out a very dull yellow. Wont drive over 20 mph floored.

The spark plug wires are shot, found several holes where mice had chewed threw them. The only thing special about it I guesse is that it's a Boss 302.

If the engine is truly a boss 302 with the large cylinder heads then it's worth quite a bit if restored
