I have 1970 F-100 that the battery will not keep a charge and keeps going dead. I have replaced the battery so I know that is not the problem. Could it be the alternator. What should I check next.

Use a voltmeter/DVOM read the battery voltage before you start the truck-now start it up read the battery voltage again -should be 13.5-15.5 volts if not shut it down and disconnect the voltage regulator and jumper A to F terminal start it back up again if the voltage is within 13.5-15.5 volts now-Replace the voltage regulator no increase replace the alternator
