engine was rebuilt and ran great, then set for approx. five years never run ( engine was out of car while restore). now restore complete. normal warm oil pressure 30 PSI, oil level good. occasionally while driving can hear clacking noise from engine comp. goes away and will be quiet for long time but then may come back. did find strings, (appears to be from a rag) in oil filter. any thoughts?

rag left ion the motor may have torn apart and clog oil passage to the lifters causing the noise
