Are you getting a good hot blue snapping spark? If you have fuel and spark, it has to run unless the compression is too low, timing problems, or a weak spark.

WHEN CRANKING

DOES IT SPIT AND SPUTTER LIKE IT WANTS TO BUST OFF?

OR IS IT JUST DRY OVER AND OVERS?

IF YOU PUT MUCH MORE FUEL IN IT THAN, LETS SAY 3 PLASTIC SODA BOTTLE TOP-FULS IT MAY BE FLOODED

HAVE YOU BEEN CHOKING IT?

HAS IT BEEN RUNNING?

How long has it been sitting? Also, did you replace the fuel, clean the carb, check plugs, wires? And yes, a weak battery can have an affect on it.

SO IT'S EITHER A 232 OR A 258

BASICALLY THE SAME ENGINE EITHER WAY

MY '77 JEEP HAS A 258 W/ ELECTRONIC IGN---I HAVE REPLACED THE INTAKE AND INSTALLED A 4 BBL HOLLEY

MY OTHER JEEP HAS A FLATHEAD FOUR, IT'S A 1946 WILLYS

RECENTLY I REPLACED THE POINT SYSTEM WITH AN ADD-ON ELECTRONIC SYSTEM AND COIL (ONLY THE DISTRIBUTOR PARTS AND COIL, NO OTHER BOXES OR WIRING)----VERY SIMPLE AND INEXPENSIVE, FITS RIGHT INTO THE EXISTING DISTRIBUTOR. CAN BE REVERTED BACK IN MINUTES, IF NEED-BE

I LIKE IT A LOT--LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, I'LL SEND MORE INFO--I FEEL SURE THE COMPANY MAKES THE SYSTEM TO FIT YOURS

To the medic. Well I found out it is a 1968 javelin SST and yesterday I found the problem, it is because the carburetors throttle was rusted shut. It runs and I hooked up a temporary fuel tank that is a 1 gallon tang and its gravity flowed from the roof. We are hot wiring it from under the hood because of no key. Nice jeep but I'm not interested because I just turned 13.

CAN'T GET RID OF WILLY. HE'S MY BABY. THERE ARE MANY MORE OF 'EM

IN CASE YOU WANNA GET RID OF THE POINTS, HERE'S THE LINK TO THE MFGer's CATOLOG---YOU CAN FIND WHAT YOU NEED HERE, THEN YOU'LL HAVE TO TAKE THE PART # TO ONE OF THEIR DEALERS TO PURCHASE
I'M JUST GUESSING YOU HAVE A 2 BARREL BBD

THAT'S HARD TO BELIEVE THAT'S THE SAME CARB--BOTH HAVE WARRANTY'S---I WOULD NOT BE SCARED OF THE CHEAPER ONE

ALWAYS KEEP YOUR CORE UNTIL ALL IS RUNNING WELL, THERE MAY BE A BRACKET, ETC THAT YOU NEED TO TRANSFER TO THE REPLACEMENT. NOTHING LIKE YOUR CORE BEING GONE FOREVER AND YOU NEED SOMETHING OFF OF IT.

ARE YOU GETTING THIS PUPPY FIXED UP FOR WHEN YOU ARE LEGAL ROAD READY?

WHEN WE MESS AROUND WITH A "DRAG IN" JEEP, WE DO THE GAS CAN THING TOO---WE CALL IT THE "I.V."!

KEEP US POSTED ON PROGRESS

MAYBE WE CAN HELP SOME
