I have the 352 fe with a 3 speed I have a tap in the left side of the engine I pulled valve covers checked for damage and checked for excessive wear, none noted. I have replaced spark plugs, exhaust manifold gaskets, nothing has taken care of the tap. It taps at all rpm's. I have checked for bent push rods and but not for bent valves. What else besides tearing it down could I check?

TAPPETS!.........I'M SORTA GUESSING THAT YOUR ROCKER ARMS ARE NON-ADJUSTABLE....AND IT HAS TAPPETS, NOT SOLID LIFTERS....AS I DON'T "KNOW" A 252 ENGINE

I CAME TO MY ASSUMPTION BY LOOKING UP THE ROCKERS.....LINK BELOW

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_rocker-arm-sealed-power_3687325-p?searchTerm=rocker+arm#

IN "DESCRIPTION" OF THE ROCKERS, IT DOES SAY "W/ HYD. LIFTERS"

SEE "MY ANSWERS"....AND LINKS, ......IN THESE TWO LINKS BELOW

LET ME KNOW IF THIS HELPS
