sudden acceleration on 67 camaro

i have a 1967 chevy camaro.yeasterday i changed the distributor to an electronic ignition. everything ran ok but all of a sudden, as the automatic transmission goes into 2nd gear, the vehicle goes into a violent sudden acceleration. i ahve to put hte car in neutral and shut it off. any ideas of waht it could be?

That is interesting. Check to make sure the linkage to the carb is okay. Check to make sure the return springs on the carb are in good condition. Finally, check the kick down linkage and make sure it isn't binding.
