Why does wiper motor on 1967 camaro go backward on low but forward on high

bought new wiper motor high speed the shaft turns counterclockwise but on low speed goes in reverse any answers

ya take it back if you just got it. otherwise check the ground inside the motor. something is wired wrong in it.
