hydraulic pump for International 300 farm tractor

I replaced the hydraulic pump on my international 300 farm tractor and when I started the engine the pump got hot and when I raised or lowered the draw-bar the engine speed increased. Did I do something wrong or is the new pump defective?

check the fluid level for the pto. did you bleed it??

is it lifting it and lowering ok?? is the spped of the lift ok??
