morris minor 1000

sir- when i drive about 2 km the ignition coil ( bottle coil) of my morris minor 1000 car hot and stop car till cool coil,(coil is new) now I am going to change the coil as a New era Electric coil ? help me

Check that the points are ok and also replace the condenser, also make sure that the coil is not wired back to front.

Would this vehicle use a ballast resistor or a resistance wire?

Is it possible it has been eliminated (unintentionally), over the years in this vehicle?

Good thought CJ, Morris's normally did not run a ballast, but that's not to say that it should run one, if the owner can check if the coil is a ballast coil that would also help.
