To set points, install with a small dab of height temp grease behind the rubbing block, turn engine until points rubbing block is on distributor lobe (Highest point ie fully open, back off screw just enough to allow firm movement of base to move with a screw driver, you will see a tang you can lever against, carefully close or open points until gap is set with feeler gauge, I presume that you do not have a dwell gauge. Lock points up and re check gap, you should be able to draw feeler through with small resistance without it opening the gap, old Lucas coils, I would say sw is points(switch) if the coil is that old why not treat it to a birthday and get a new coil, it will work so much better.
