brake pedal gets hard after driving car about 10 miles...brakes lock up. the brakes will release after sitting for a hour or more, brakes feel normal when you start out and the pedal starts to get hard to a point where you have no free pedal it is very hard and the car slows. master cylinder has been replaced with a nos one.

1951 or 1961? how do you get brakes to release? does it on its own? have you checked at bleeder to see if there is pressure when locked?

1951 chevy ..it releases on its own it takes about 1/2 hour...there is pressure at a bleeder if you loosen a bleeder it releases at once

What maybe happening is composating port is getting covered by the piston seal. Check pedal freeplay if pushrod is depressing master cylinder piston even slightly comp port will be closed and pressure will be checked in lines
