lift-gate will not open

My lift-gate will not open, it is manual.

Try pushing in on it when you are opening it this can sometimes un-jam the latch. If that does not work then you will need to remove the inside panel.

Here are some diagrams to help you see whats going on. There must be a control rod that has fallen off the latch.
