1988 Plymouth Voyager Replacing head gasket

My van over heated a couple times and now I have a blow head gasket.

Can I get to the head gasket without pulling the engine?

Local mechanic told me iwth a blow head gasket it probably go hot enough to burn the piston or cylinder? Nad not worth the repair so I'm tackling itmyself.

I haave started dismantleing the engine formthe top down and amy ready to remove the intake manifold but it is sure looking tight aroudn the edges to leave the engien in palce and break it down?

any best steps to follow?

Richie, it can be done that way, or if you have a lift or can jack and stand the body high enough, you can drop the cradle and remove the motor and tranny, with the axles and all. Remove the three nuts at the top of the struts, unplug harnesses, and lower it all with a good floor jack. The exhaust at the back side will be your hardest challenge.
