Good morning.

Did you verify two powers to the fuel pump relay? Test for two powers with the key in the "on" position.

I attached a wire diagram for you to view.

There should be a prime wire at the positive cable. Jump that wire to the positive cable and the fuel pump should run. If it does not, check the gray wire at the connector at the pump for power.

I tested with test light at harness, before fuel tank, had a red light. I am doubting the cap and rotor, because I got a very poor orange spark, but I still would have power regardless correct? And I have not checked I have not had the chance to check for prime wire. Would this be a loose wire that I touch to positive post on battery?

Yes, I am trying to get power to fuel pump. Is there a inline fuse? Reason, old fuel pump was new sixteen years ago. I am doing things on my break, for my brother who is working on truck. He has his wife's phone and he is having to get used to it. Sorry for the delay. I will get lunch break in thirty minutes.

When you say prime wire at positive, where is this wire coming from? I am not sure where to start it is not very clear. I do not know how to look at the diagram's perspective. The fuel pump relay is on the firewall. The diagram makes it look like it is closer to the middle. I guess I am not sure where to locate the primer wire.

It should be taped to the positive cable at the battery.

I will have him look again, and this will touch to the positive on battery and should in theory run the fuel pump?

Correct. If that happens, then we need to do voltage checks for the relay.

Thank you Roy, everything you suggested was right on time. Ironically the previous owner had a new brake controller installed, traced ground wire from controller, and someone had it at one time grounded with fuel tank ground. Did some scrubbing and grinding to fresh bare metal joined the 2 grounds back together and turned key to on and bingo we had a fuel pump running. Im thinking that a bad, rusty, spliced ground wire was the culprit for making the last fuel pump only last 16 most or so.I guess we will find out in 16 most. Once again I thank all of you, and this site. Im glad to have stumbled upon it.
