Originally quit on the road but started after a while. Have replaced fuel filter, distributor cap and rotor, and plug wires. Hard starting when cold and has backfired. Will start and idle but falters on acceleration. Now I have fuel pressure tester on fuel line valve and getting 58psi. Should I look at something else before replacing the fuel pump?

The pressure seems okay, but the pump could be failing intermittently. The fact that it is hard starting when cold and backfires says low fuel pressure. The fuel pumps go out all the time in these trucks and I would replace the fuel filter as well. Here is how the job is done in the images below. Please let us know how it goes.
