When I push on gas pedal it whines. Then when I let off the gas it stops.

Hi LEELY,
First thing you need to do is to find out where the noise is coming from and what component is producing it. Get someone to try to locate the source of the noise while you blip the accelerator. My best guess on this would be bearing noise and most common sources would be the alternator, water pump or A/C. Test with A/C turned on and off and if it makes no difference, you can rule that out.
