I bought both sensors, one had a bolt to mount it and was located at the rear end of the transmission. But the other is labeled as the output speed sensor and is plastic with a magnetic tip. Where does this one go? I’ve spent hours under my van and I cannot find it anywhere!

Van listed above is a B2500.

I am attaching the process from the manual on the output speed sensor which is the one that I think you found. However, the other sensor being labeled output is most likely the second part of the speed sensor.

Take a look at the attachments and tell me if the sensor looks like any of the ones you have. Or can you get a picture of the sensor you still need to install? Thanks

Thanks for the speedy response! I have attached an image of the sensor I replaced, which is the one in both diagrams you posted. The yellowish plastic sensor you sent is the one for which I can’t seem to find it’s location on the transmission. I’ve used Dodge Ram diagrams for most repairs, as they are more available. But this 1 sensor is breaking my brain! Haha

Do you know what transmission you have? If not, can you provide the last 8 of your VIN and I can look it up? The picture you provided is circled below in the attachment I attached below. That is the speed sensor that attaches to the speedometer adapter.

The yellowish sensor that I attached before is the output shaft speed sensor and should be in the overdrive extension case. Take a look at the second attachment and you will see on the left of the picture is the oil pan. So it should be on the drivers side of the vehicle just behind the pan.

However, let me know what transmission you have and that may help.

That is perfect. Take a look at the first picture. This is your output speed sensor and housing for the speedometer that is shown in the second attachment.

The sensor that you have that you cannot find a location for is for a 46 RE transmission. You have a 46RH transmission and it does not have this output shaft speed sensor.

I looked on RockAuto and they have it listed for your vehicle but say it is for a 46RE transmission. Which explains why you can't find it.

Those other connectors on the transmission for the solenoid packs and the connection to the PCM.

Let us know if you need more info. Sorry to make you lay in the snow! Thanks
