This has been bothering me for some time. My close friend was charged $5,000 for a water pump replacement and new engine mounts to be installed by a BMW dealership near Silver Spring, Maryland.
She does not know anything about cars and trusts the dealership not to take advantage of her.
But this seems incredibly expensive for something I have done on my 1993 BMW E36 and which was relatively easy - although the engine mounts were a bit difficult and required the engine to be slightly lifted by an engine lift that was placed across the engine bay.
Do you know the rated number of hours to do this kind of work on this type of car? Even at $120 an hour, that would mean around 30+ hours of work plus parts!
