I just bought the car listed above GT model. The guy I bought it from said old clutch was worn out. So, I replaced the clutch and on the first test drive it was running at 2,800 to 3,000 RPMs in fifth gear at 60MPH. Is that high or normal?

Hello,

Typically, I have seen those cars hovers around 2,500-2,700 at 60 MPH.
Due to having short gears.
So, if you are around 2,800 that is still within the ballpark.

Are you having any type of drivability issues?
Do you feel any slippage on the clutch?

Is the wheel and tire factory size?

Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.

I'm not feeling any slippage and it does have stock tires and rims on it. I just wanted to make sure. The vehicle has over 200,000, so I just don't want to beat on it more than what it probably already has been.

The way these transmissions are geared the top gear RPMs always seems higher. But it is just the way it was made. So, you will get better acceleration and better response. Of course, that comes at a cost of higher cruise RPM than the automatic version.
