Car starts sometimes and finally stopped. Check starter, changed battery and still will not start. Now only key is lost.
Reprogrammed a new key and car still will not start.
DTC code reads 982C ECM faulty signal.
What is wrong?

It sounds like you have an ignition key that did not take the reprogram. Also, is the security light flashing when you try to crank it over?

Check the system fuses to see if one is out causing the communication error.

Here is a guide to help:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-fuse

Here are the fuse locations please check them with the key on.

Check out the diagrams (below).

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken

Sorry, the correct code is 928C ECM faulty signal and yes the security light did go off.
I will be checking the fuses again. I guess you mean if there are blown/bad fuses.

Another doc was a bad plug. Number 5 but my mechanic says it's not enough to cause problems like cranking cause the car didn't even crank
