Hopefully you can help me with my problem, and it may take a minute to explain this in detail but here goes.
As I stated, I’m working installing a RHD system, right hand drive system, to convert to a mail delivery truck. In the instructions it specifically says to tape the clock spring to the steering column to keep it from turning and losing its position, which I did. I got everything put back together, and took it for a test drive. Well I had a friend helping me out and he didn’t get the steering wheel ret nut all the way tight. And as I turning around after driving it, the pulley on the actual drivers side wobbled loose. This caused the anti-skid light, the abs light, and the trac control light to come on. When I got it back to the shop, I figured I would just start the procedure over again just to see if I get the lights to go off. Well, I couldn’t get the pulley/hub off so I pulled on it pretty hard and it came off, with part of the clock spring attached to it and tape unraveled all over. Oops!
Well I ordered a clock spring and installed it and put all parts back together and didn’t move the clock spring, and the lights didn’t go off.
Can you help me with how to get these lights off without having to pay someone two or three hundred dollars with a scanner to do so? Please and thank you.

Hi,

Without knowing what codes are set, it is really hard to answer this question. Eventually, it should complete the drive cycle requirements and turn off if everything is good. However, I don't even know what to tell you to expect because I don't know the codes present. I hope that makes sense.

As far as a scanner, you can purchase one. They aren't too expensive. I don't know where you are located, but often times parts stores will scan it for you free of charge. Perhaps they will clear the codes as well.

I hope you understand why I'm limited. Other than a scanner, you may be waiting for some time for it to turn itself off.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Joe
