Transmission problem
2002 Volvo XC70 All Wheel Drive Automatic 102000 miles

I just had my trasnmission rebuilt and all software upgraded. (There was a broken part in the transmission.) Now that it is put back together, they cannot figure out why there is a delay when shifting from P or N to D. It gets better after the engine is fully warmed up. This does not happen shifting from P to R. The transmission software was re-loaded multiple times. Two Volvo dealers, a very good indy transmission shop who did the work, and my experienced indy mechanic cannot figure it out. Thank you for your help.

Transmission may have not being rebuilt right. Would strongly suggest you get a transmission from Volvo. Also once replaced you need to reset the oil counter ad the transmission adaptations. Once you have reset the adaptation you would need to set the Transmission Control Module in adaptation drive mode and follow the test drive procedure. That procedure also shows you how to adapt the transmission from park to drive. Of coarse this can only be done at Volvo or a shop that specializes in Volvo.
