It is apparently shift/timing solenoid.
Is this located inside or outside the transmission?
Can it be replaced be general automotive mechanic or does it require special training/tools?

PO1618 only lets you know that a fault has being stored in the transmission control module? So the next step would be to have the transmission control module scanned for codes to see what the next step should be?
